WTO Cell at EEPC
The Council has set up a WTO Cell at its Territorial
Division in New Delhi which is being headed by a senior officer
who is well versed with WTO matters. The broad Terms of Reference
are as under:
- To assist the member-exporters
in filing their responses in Anti-dumping and Countervailing
investigations and respond to their queries on WTO related
matters.
- To assist the Government
in drafting its responses in Anti-dumping and Countervailing
investigations initiated against engineering exports from
the country.
- To attend to all WTO
related matters on behalf of the Council including responding
to the Government and other bodies.
- To assist the Government
during the verification conducted by foreign investigating
authorities specially in Antidumping and subsidies matters.
- To organise Workshops/Seminars
in different parts of the country to disseminate information
on WTO related matters.
- To conduct studies by
experts on WTO related matters for the benefit of the Government
and Council’s members.
- To empanel lawyers/consultants
on WTO related matters for assisting the Council and its
members.
- To attend the Seminars/Workshop
organised by the Government or other Chambers on WTO related
matters.
- To establish a Help Desk
to disseminate this information promptly.
- To publish FAQ / Articles
/ News on WTO in EEIB and also to post the same on the website.
- To evaluate the matter
and recommend for Government grant purely on merit.
Helpline
A Helpline is being set up in
the Council on WTO related matters, facilitating answers to
the members’ queries on the matters of their concern.
Mr. Neeraj Varshney, Officer on Special Duty in the EEPC (T.O.),
New Delhi would be the nodal officer for this purpose. His
